We are very proud to announce that MountainView Veterinary Hospital has created a charitable fund to help cover the cost of treating sick and injured animals. Our fund name is P.A.W.S. (Providing Animal Wellness & Support).

As veterinarians, we have seen all too often the monumental work that our local shelters and animal rescues put in to save these precious animals, many of whom require medical care ranging from spaying and neutering to major surgery or treatment for serious health issues. And we see other cases where pet owners find themselves financially unprepared to do what is needed to save their pet and facing a heart-wrenching decision if they can’t afford treatment. As a result, MountainView has often taken on some of these cases at no charge or a heavily discounted rate. But we would like to do more to help rescues, shelters, families, and their pets, as well as stray and injured animals.

So, inspired by clients who wanted to help less fortunate owners afford emergency pet care, we’ve established our charitable fund, P.A.W.S., under the umbrella of the Veterinary Care Foundation.

The Veterinary Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation and is unique in that 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to veterinary practices – the Foundation never uses charitable contributions for administration, salaries, or fundraising.

  • The Veterinary Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that helps veterinary practices fund their discounted and no-charge cases. A full 100% of all funds donated to the VCF go directly to veterinary practices. This is their website: https://veterinarycarefoundation.org/
  • MountainView has joined the VCF to enable us to raise funds for our charitable cases.
  • This is the name of our fund! The P.A.W.S. Project stands for “providing animal wellness and support”. The goal of starting this fund at MountainView is to be able to give back to the rescues, shelters, and specialty cases that might not otherwise have a chance for treatment. As a community practice we want to be able to give back to those who need it most.
  • We have some case studies on our website of pets we have helped!
100% of all donations to the hospital’s fund are used for charitable case work. Following a request to release funds, VCF then releases a grant check back to MountainView to cover the expenses. We keep records of how all funds are applied to our charitable cases.

Foundation funds are intended for the following use:

  • Rescue/ shelter work
  • Funding for Good Samaritan cases
  • Care for police/fire and service animals
  • Provide support to pets of families in crisis
  • Funding for pets harmed or displaced due to local disaster (such as weather, fire, etc)
  • Other charitable purposes at the practice’s discretion
