MountainView Animal Hospital is a proud member of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. We partner with rescue organizations on the local and national level, supporting efforts to find loving homes for lost, abandoned, and homeless pets. We also provide spays, neuters, vaccines, medications, and wellness visits for many of the rescue and shelter animals. These include Randolph Regional Animal Shelter, Denville Animal Shelter, Jersey Pits Rescue, Montville Animal Shelter, NorthStar Pet Rescue, Eleventh Hour Rescue, German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of New Jersey,
Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue, and French Bulldog Rescue Network.

We love Rockaway and Morris County, and ever since MountainView Veterinary Hospital first opened its doors we’ve strived to do all we can to give back to the community we serve. and our entire veterinary team remain committed to improving the lives of animals, even when it means going beyond the walls of our hospital.

We also provide veterinary services to animals from Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary, a 120-acre preserved farm located in Warren County, New Jersey. Antler Ridge is a wildlife rehabilitation center that provides vital care and treatment to sick, injured or orphaned wildlife.

On a local level, we are a proud contributor to our town’s annual Rockaway Days festivities, and each year sponsor a petting zoo as part of the event. We also sponsor events in Denville and other surrounding towns.

Our hospital offers discounts for all active duty military and law enforcement personnel, and we contribute regularly to causes for veterans.

My inspiration for making my veterinary dream come true was Larry Lion, a beloved stuffed animal I had at the age of two. When Larry’s string was pulled, he roared. One day, to my dismay, the string stayed out. Larry Lion was broken. My thoughtful babysitter at the time offered to take Larry home for an “operation.” I still remember feeling frightened for him, but my babysitter said not to worry. She’d take good care of him. The next day, Larry Lion came back home. He wasn’t able to talk anymore—they had to remove his “voice box” but otherwise he was restitched and as good as new. I could have cared less that he didn’t speak anymore. I had my best friend back. It was at that moment, I knew I’d one day become a veterinarian and take care of other people’s much-loved best friends. It’s been almost 50 years and I can still remember that feeling of pure joy. I could not hide the tears when my team presented me with an original Larry Lion a few years ago. He holds a special place in my home and in my heart.

My husband William and I have been married for long enough to have built a united front against our teenage girls in these tumultuous hormonal years. I give all the credit to him for sticking by me through this journey as any small business entrepreneur will tell you, “it ain’t easy”. He’s my rock and I will always be grateful he decided to give me a second look. Together, we are working on a larger location to provide for expansion in Denville.

Abigail and Zoe. Our two little bookends are quite simply the greatest thing we’ve ever done in our lives. Abigail is working toward obtaining her BS in Animal Science at Auburn and hoping to earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine afterward. Zoe is enjoying her high school years and continues to energetically tackle the world through thoughtful and quick-witted debate.

Having a dynamic political and management timetable, my schedule changes from time to time. However, being an active member of the AVMA is of crucial importance to me and I profoundly enjoy having a voice in the profession.

My dream is to continue to build a veterinary organization that continues to provide exceptional medicine while maintaining customized service. These days, it seems as more healthcare facilities incorporate, there is a loss of the human behind the pet. We never want to forget the clients who have entrusted us with their most precious family members.
