Dr. Ottoson was born and raised in central NJ. After obtaining his B.S. in Biochemistry from Cook College at Rutgers University, Dr. O was briefly employed in the pharmaceutical industry prior to finding his life-long career in veterinary medicine in 2006. Immediately on graduation from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. O began the journey to achieve board certification in surgery by completing a rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital, followed by a surgical internship at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists in MD.
Upon accomplishing the two years of internship, however, Dr. O realized the challenges of medicine and the opportunity to have lifelong relationships with patients was missing in his career and transitioned to working in private practice in central NJ for the past few years. Dr. O is currently a member of the AVMA and NJVMA. Dr. O was married in September 2018 and is enjoying renovating a new home with his wife Courtney. When not seeing patients, Dr. O enjoys spending time playing golf, fishing, volunteering for local charities, his church, and spending time with family, friends, and his family dogs, Hayley and Tito.
